Purpose:  to offer an alternative to most current coaching systems that is fundamentally different, with the aim of developing great footballers endowed with both an abundance of character and a great passion for the game, acting with a soul-felt understanding of the word “professional.”

Currently, I offer two models for working with players:  Coaching and/or Training.  I differentiate between Coaching and Training Models using an analogy borrowed from the medical profession, as follows:

Head Coach – The General Practitioner, he or she knows everything about each player on the team, and as such, the Head Coach has almost total control of the playing experience.  The Coach works over a period of years to improve and guide each player on the team through all of the elements of the game, including not only the technical and the tactical but also the psychological and the physical as well.

Trainer - The Surgeon, he or she is brought in to address specific needs.  The Trainer does not have control over the player’s entire experience, thus he or she focuses for discreet periods of time (months) on specific elements of the player’s game such as ball-striking (technical) or functional positioning (tactical).

The Head Coaching Model

I am currently Head Coaching the SYC Pride United and Pride Fire, both performance-oriented travel teams.  The Pride is a promising group of young female athletes goaled as a group to succeed on the pitch as well as being goaled as individuals to become exceptional sportswomen and players.  The team features a group of parents that are as interested in sportsmanship as they are in success on the field, as we believe the two elements are not mutually exclusive.

Players seeking to play at the premier elite level are encouraged to contact me to schedule an opportunity to guest train with the team.

The Training Model

Currently, I am working with a small group of elite athletes, both boys and girls, on ball-striking.  Individual training sessions last for approximately one hour.  Over 8 or more sessions, each athlete works from the basics of balance (even the best players can stand for improvement in this area) up through the act of shooting with all of the various surfaces.  The progression of sessions includes an in-depth exploration of the degrees and differences between power and placement.

For anyone interested in having me in to train, please contact me at your convenience, and we can arrange a time and place.

The cost for me to Train an athlete is negotiable based upon the expectations.  Ball-striking training sessions may include up to 4 players during a one-hour session.  And, in fact, the sessions are facilitated by working in pairs.
